I want visitors to be able to download certain zipped files from a website. I've created a download button next to the description of the file's description. Now how do I get the zip file to download when the visitor clicks on the download button?

Hi Ron,
Set the button's link to web address and give it the complete URL for the zip file.
For example if you have a filenamed zipfile1.zip in a folder called zipfiles on a domain named RonDuke.com:
Bill,
Thanks. I've attached a picture of my Windows Explorer window where I have all my files located. I've tried as you suggested by putting in the "Link" the following: C:\Documents and Settings\Ron\My Documents\Xara Drawings\Xara Web Designer\Customers\Real Estate Capital MGM\forms\Forms(Letter).pdf
I keep getting the message that the path can't be found.
You can't link to your HDD from an online web file Ron.
You need to upload the file to your server and create the link to it as Bill demonstrated.
Ron try changing the backslashes (\) to forward slashes (/).
However I'm not sure a link to a local file will work unless you have a web server running and have your files in the localhost directory structure.
Ok, where do I place the folder with the file so that when I Publish the site the folder gets uploaded?
Ron place it in the index_htm_files folder.
Anything added to the index_htm_files folder (for example) will get uploaded when you 'Publish'
So adding my.zip to that folder will be uploaded to your host.
The link from index.htm would then be:
index_htm_files/my.zip
Or you can use the full URL linked from any page of your site
http://www.buydezignz.com/index_htm_files/my.zip (for example)
ok, I'll give it a try. Thank you guys! I'll let you know what happens.
YEAAAHHH! Got it to work. THANK YOU SO MUCH GENTLEMEN!
