is there any special way to do these kind of stuffs? or you just trace the bitmap and start playing with nodes?.

Get a picture with clear details. Then it's all 2D path objects. It's all about details, so you'd have to do it only when you're interested. Once it gets boring, save your work and do it some other time. I usually do the main shapes first, to see it it works out. Then add details later. Play around with transparencies and gradients.

Next to MSPaint, PI was one of the earliest graphics program I played around with.

Jumping in on an old thread. Here is something I made in PI XL. The Russell coat of arms which is my mother's maiden name. All done with editing path shapes.
