if I understand Jup Correctly,
That would give you a bump map very easily... create highlights on one side and shadows on the other, then adjust the transparency as you see fit... If you could drop "nodes" on both the horizontal as well as vertical directions...

Hey John, what program do those dialogs belong too that you posted on the previous page??

Now that there are free/cheap options around & you don't have to pay Adobe $$$, The main argument for that would be if it could produce a superior result to using an external converter.
I think that, on the export front, Xara should go for depth rather than breadth - i.e. pick a few key formats for "interoperability" and concentrate on making them as comprehensive as possible.
Having said that, dare I mention SVG? I probably wouldn't use it but it would give everybody a nice warm feeling :-)

Nobody has mentioned mapping the mousewheel to zoom yet, instead of scrolling up and down the page (but perhaps this work in X1, I don't know, I haven't bought it yet).

Actually the mousewheel is mapped to zoom, you just have to hold down the Ctl key while scrolling.

Richard: "CorelDraw 12 has this under the Eye Dropper Tool called Object Attributes."
CorelDraw has had that since around version 5 in 1995! About the same time I started asking Xara for it - isn't that an amazing coincidence? ;-)

Wow, that's a long time old man!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Wonder why Charles has overlooked this area?? I would think that being such a powerful tool (or set of tools) Charles would have jumped at implementing said tools to make Xara X1 even more powerful than it is. I would certainly love to have tools like that on board Xara X1 as well as a Mesh tool as well!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
In another thread you were trying to achieve fills that actually followed the curves and bends of objects and I would love to see this area looked into further too. Or simply add in a Mesh tool for now and make many of us that much more happy!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
