Re: Noob - Achieve the coin affect
Hello all,
I am new to the forum. I am interested in using xara3d but am having a hard time getting the tut to work. My issues is that I cannot get both images to load. I can get one or the other but not both. I am using xara3d6.
Don't know what I am doing wrong. I brought up the text cursor and selected the right circle and loaded an image, it appeared on both circles. I selected the other circle and loaded an image and it appeared on both circles.
Help please! I can't afford to loose any more hair:confused:

Re: Noob - Achieve the coin affect
Hi Yo Handy,
Welcome to the forum.
After loading the two textures, you must insert a page break between the two circles. Place the text cursor between them then hold down a Control Key and then press the Enter key, then release both keys. Now the two circles are separate pages and the textures should fit more closely to their respective circles.
You will need to use the Time Line to view the different pages in the main window.

Hi Soquli,
Thanks for your response. My problem is that I can't get both textures to load! Whenever I try to load the second texture it loads to both coins.. No matter what I have tried I get the same results.

You may not be deselecting anything between selecting the circles and applying the textures. Use the Show/Hide Cursor icon or use Ctrl+E in the main window. Select one circle and apply a texture, hide the cursor (or use arrow keys to move the cursor but do not hold the shift key to select the next circle) show the cursor if you it was hidden then select the next circle and apply it's texture. In any case, you must move the cursor or hide it so that nothing is selected between selecting the individual circles.

Re: Noob - Achieve the coin affect
Just had to ask this after skimming this thread and deciding to try it.
I have a good image to use for my own head but can anyone supply a suitable "tail" image?? ;-)
Email to phurm@one.net if you don't want to post here.
Thanks.

Re: Noob - Achieve the coin affect
Hi Paul,
Welcome to Talkgraphics.
It would be difficult to say what would be a 'suitable' image to use for the tail if we don't know what you will be using for the head. Also, what 'theme' will your coin represent. The person that started this thread wanted to animate a 'coin' with the emblems of a Navy organization. The images I used were just some chosen at random.
The more info you can provide, the better the solution one or more of us can provide. :)

G'day Bill
Great coin effects! I must admit to being at stage one (if you are at 100) so feel a bit silly asking questions that may have obvious answers to the experts.
Anyway here goes, when I tried to access the zip file in your on line tute. I get a message of access denied. I am signed on, what else do I need to do?
Thank you
Chris
