Re: Curious about why Arrowsheads should not extend from the line length.
Will, Sorry if I came across as being a Troll.
I was actually attempting to keep things lighthearted.
Re: Curious about why Arrowsheads should not extend from the line length.
I'm with you Bill
and I still cannot see how you put an arrow on the end part of a line that is curving, without shaping the arrow head itself - at exactly which point do you make it tangential in an automatic process?
Re: Curious about why Arrowsheads should not extend from the line length.
A few years ago Talkgraphics was a very fun place to learn and share ideas.
One of the things that seems to have changed is people taking things too seriously.
My initial purpose was to try and bring some levity into a current topic.
Perhaps my type of humour isn't very obvious. :o

:(
seems pretty obvios to me Bill...

What illustration application is this?
Oh, you mean Xara? ... but it isn't just an illustration application, it's an application for all types of creative work (see Xara's own words, quoted in this post), which must surely therefore include CAD.
Re: Curious about why Arrowsheads should not extend from the line length.
My reading of Xara's words is not the same
TheXara quote is advertise-speak that is sales pitch - in which 'all types' does not mean the same as 'all possible types', or even 'all common types'....;) - it just means 'lots'

Very relevant question really ;)) I can only speak for myself.
I work as a product development consultant designing products for a lot of different clients. When we design products we start with a lot of paper/pencil concept drawings.
When the drawings get a little more detailed (and before we start the big 3D CAD software) it's nice to get the design drawn/sketched a little more accurate and in the correct size to be able to evaluate the design (does everything fit etc.) and to have a nicely coloured product concept drawing to present for the client. This the part where Xara fits perfectly to our way of working.
We design a lot of medical devices with moving parts and drawing all those stages of parts moving to illustrate the working principles is really what started the idea of going into software instead of hand drawing all those almost identical drawings. I had dabbled for months in Inkscape and we started using that but trying out Xara it quickly became clear that this was a better tool for the job.
Next step is animating those moving parts and making cool PowerPoint presentations, we're working on that
So there! I just wish I had learned a vector program a lot earlier.
