I liked the awe (yes, awe) and simplicity goingh on with your original design better than what you did in #41.
Can you post it and let me do a variation on it?
TIA,
Gary
I don't agree with you, or disagree with you.
Though looking at the difference in skill level and experience, I would have to lean towards your opinion.
When I do a logo, I try lots of different things, and then have a look at it later on, and get opinions.
Mostly Lynn's opinions, as there's no-one else!
Here, I'm just putting up something slightly different and looking for the opinions of the members. So, thank you for that.
I'm assuming you're looking for me to post the .xar file?
It's attached.
Looking forward to your variation.
(Don't keep us on tenterhooks, for too long!)

You have more ideas going on within our composition than I realize (sic):

Oh! That is excellent.
I like the way you've made it look as though the front part is cut into the back part. What a very simple effect. Simple, but brilliant.
Now, how did you make the grill???
That looks so good.

My one (and only) post to the thread. Did this at the start of the thread...but been tied up and was cleaning out a temp drawing folder on my desktop and saw it. Been neat looking at the images in the thread, though.

Step 1: Go get Raster
, a utility designed by our Xara pal for years, Dmitry Malutin*. Dmitry, sorry but there are too many places on the web that snag innocent users who try to get your program, so I am hosting it on Dropbox. This is a hacked copy, because the credit on the title bar says "No Access" designed it. Nope, Dmitry designed it, but No Access hacked the title bar and posted it someplace.
No viruses, I can assure you; I just used it and swept my drive and nuthin'. It's a one file executable, no support files.
Alternatively, you can Use Vector Magic online twice for free, I think. Me I bought the desktop version. You could in a pinch use Xara's Bitmap Tracing feature, but it honestly isn't as good as these guys, sorry!
Step 2. Create a circular gradient and then make a bitmap copy of it (Ctrl+Shift+C). Copy the bitmap to the clipboard.
Step 3. In Raster, click Trace and then, click the Copy2Clbr button and then in Xara, Ctrl+P, and then wait a while because you're pasting over 5,000 circles of different sizes.
Step 4: Go to Wireframe quality in Xara and then select the background rectangle and then delete it.
Step 5: Group all the objects and you're all set to create something!
Now at viewing size less than 1: 1 on most monitors, you might see banding or a moiré pattern, but rest assured the vector pattern is okay.

My Best,

*The link to this on the Xara Xone archives page is broken. Any links you might find to Dmitri are currently in Russian and this freeware is not offered.

I believe that Dimitry is Access Denied. Could be wrong.
