Re: WD6 - Unhandleable unidentifiable exception in thread at 0x00000000
Hi CLiff,
I have to say - the best people to help you or anyone else in this matter are on the job.
No-one here has any better chance of helping you than Xara themselves.
As has been mentioned already a patch may be released shortly which is said to have identified conflicts and solved the problem.
Thanks for your patience :)
Re: WD6 - Unhandleable unidentifiable exception in thread at 0x00000000
I think Cliff is just trying to see if we have a common denominator -- no harm in that.
While I think there are many more of us having problems than is represented by posts here, I'll play...
I'm running vista home premium (32) sp2 on a Gateway laptop.
Avira
Carbonite
In the middle of this post I had a thought and the strangest thing happended.
I had changed to the light skin via the keyboard shortcut and saved a file a while back. Since I had been getting the error when trying to open a file, I thought it would be interesting to see what happended if I switched back to the dark skin.
Sure enough, it worked!
But then I took it a step further. I closed the WD6 with dark skin intact, re-launched, and boom, no go. Same error.
Bizarre.
Re: WD6 - Unhandleable unidentifiable exception in thread at 0x00000000
I believe the common denominator has been identified and at this point rather than throwing more possible confusion into the scene and risking unnecessary software problems through unrelated actions, I'd recommend waiting for Xara's next move and then report back.
This is my opinion only - anyone of course is free to muck up their own computers at will ;)
Re: WD6 - Unhandleable unidentifiable exception in thread at 0x00000000
Thanks for removing that zip file from Xlogics post. I was given one too but I think it was only given to a few of us to try out and get back to Xara with any results.
As you said "throwing more possible confusion into the scene and risking unnecessary software problems".
Roll on Monday
Re: WD6 - Unhandleable unidentifiable exception in thread at 0x00000000
Dr.Who,
Can you clarify what you mean when you say it's working fine? Do you mean before or after the new zip download? Light or dark skin, placeholder issues all back to normal?
My WD6 works fine in light skin and as previously stated, I'm pleased with the program in it's present state and only comply with support requests to help locate the glitch.
If you did extract and place the most recent zip with positive results can you let me know exactly where you dropped the file once extracted?
Thanks.
Cliff
