Perhaps, yes. Are you thinking background silhouette maybe?

For instance, Ross's logo. the Guy is shown throwing to the right of the screen. If the Lady was throwing to the right of the screen that kid down the center.

Here's a version with a kid, a woman, and a man. I tried to make the kid kind of gender neutral -- having to add another kid (so there is a boy & a girl) would make the thing way too busy. I'm just glad cows don't bowl -- I don't draw cows. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Ross, they look kinda cloned. Must be West Virgina Bowlers...

I'm feeling awkward now... and I'm not sure what to do. I feel an urge to jump in and at the same time something tells me to hold back.
- should I provide feedback outside of answering questions? Comments? Criticism? Critiquing?
- should I offer my personal ideas? (yep, I've got some). Am I now steering the design?
Anything I say or do here has to be within the bounds of ethics and not be seen as a conflict of interests or be viewed upon as improper behavior. Obviously, I want to make this fair and fun for everyone and not step on anyones toes. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Please help me out here you guys. I'd like to here several opinions on these questions, so I can decide on how to proceed.

i say yes tell us your ideas. it is your organization. you and your team know what you want. if you and your team dont see anything that is representatie of want your after there is no shame in telling.

I agree with Mike, please do share your ideas Ed - as long as you don't start suggesting cows!

Oh yes... Mad Bowling Cows... Eh?
-
OK... I promise... no COWS!
The following ideas are just mine and not necessarily what the board and other may prefer. Having been in bowling for a long time I can share opinions as to what might be better concepts over others but then again they are just my opinion, not that of the board or the judges (which will be some ordinary everyday bowlers)

- I have a sense here that tells me I'd like to see as symbol or something that will project Men, Women and Youth. With this in mind I'm visualizing (in the case of Ross's direction) a single bowler, "maybe" the Man in the foreground and the other two in the background watching and/or preparing to bowl next.
- The other thing that comes to mind is those gender symbols.

Could a ball with pins suggest/illustrate these shapes? These at least project both genders but lacks the youth element. Just more food for thought. What do you think?

You just don't want to be mistaken as a family planning clinic....
Jokes aside, I don't know...doesn't seem to give me the right vibe.
