That must be hard, I had an aunt who had that, and she was
so sad because people gave her "the look" when she passed and
took her for a drunk, while she hadn`t had a drop in her life.
(that due to an alcoholic father, but that is another story)
Anyways I hope your life is getting better now.

Re: Drawings of some tools...
This is something old that i found in my dad's things. It is obviously a switch of some type. The cable bears a resemblance to something you might find on a bicycle and the curvature of the handle's setting seems like it would fit perfectly on a bike's bar. What it is, I am not sure... but i call it bicycle switch.
Anyone know what this is? Or is it just something my dad made for his own use and not a known commodity?
Re: Drawings of some tools...
Some sort of brake cable?. How on earth did you manage to produce that outer sheath Bob?
Re: Drawings of some tools...
it's the phone cable line (in the line choices) changed in coloring and then shrunk to a smaller size and blended - yeah, i "cheated" so to speak, but it worked to be seen from a far (not up close)
anyway, got any idea what it is????
Re: Drawings of some tools...
If it's not a brake cable, it's likely to be a gear change lever. I don't think it's the right shape for a brake cable, so I'm pretty sure it must be a gear change.

Morning Bob
Quick in and out but was admiring your do-hicky thingamajig. Did you create a brush to make the cable? And for my 2-cents (heh, heh...I'll make him regret ever changing his name) it looks like a trottle cable off an old lawn mower or snow blower. The curvature you mention would is exactly what is needed to mount it on a lawnmower. Look deeper in the old toolbox and maybe you'll find it since the only thing you seem to have missed so far is the kitchen sink. Really like the way you have created the shift, very realistic. About time you get discovered so you can start making the big bucks with your talent......frank
