Thanks for your kind comments, meganredfern.
I see that you don't list any Xara software in your profile?!
Why not purchase one, and start on the best drawing journey you will have.
I wanted to have another go with my drawing and make a few changes.
What do you think?

God, Rik, that's magnificent, without any reference to Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen), who used the phrase excessively in all the Toy Story flicks!
Superb, subtle, really a pinpoint's view of Infinity.
My Best,
Gary
(yeah, I was out of commission for the good part of this week. After breaking my leg, it was kidney stone time; got two of the suckers out the hard way. I'm afraid if the Fates aren't done, they'll double-down and I'll be struck by lightning or the Earth will open up and swallow me. So it goes, Billy Pilgrim.)

I really enjoyed doing that one.
What's more important is that I'm sure we're all glad that you are better.
Okay, okay, honestly, I did use Xara for a lot of the elements in this video! :)
Xara was the mezzanine app to get 2D graphics ideas into a 3D-ish realm. This whole thing was inspired by Paul's post #140 on a space odyssey. You don't more heady and into Infinity than the closing moments in Stanley Kubrick's film. This is a not awfully accurate interpretation of the final moments of the film, adjusted to reflect this thread:
TGIF! (Thank God Infinity falls on Friday this month!)
My high school physics prof, many years ago, told us that if you have two left shoes and you send one half way around the universe, it will come back to the same point, but inversed, now as a right shoe. The proof was an infinity symbol ribbon with a twist. I wonder if something like this could be illustrated.

Hi John,
I believe that if you Google the phrase "Mobius Strip", you'll see plenty of examples suitable for basing an illustration on that represents a 1 sided object in a 2D domain.
Great video Gary. Very creative. Hey! I thought you were supposed to be taking it easy??? What's up with that? HA HA ha. I get that all the time from my family.
Gary- After watching your video, we cannot deny that there is infinite possibilities in technology. It does not stop growing and expanding. Every time someone tries to put a limit on it, it expands even faster. I used to watch Dick Tracy as a kid and marvel about him talking into his watch. With today's technology, that watch is commonplace. I just wanted to point out that we have a little holes of infinity going on all around us and is continuing to expand.

I really like that image.
But, wasn't it a goose that laid the golden egg?!
Um, Rik, that is a brown egg, not gold. Gold eggs would have specular reflections, as covered in the January 2015 TV tutorial.
Besides, I don't know how to draw a goose.
(I drew te chicken in Xara, exported it as a PNG, and then used Pixel Bender's Droste filter in Photoshop 5.5.Adobe has discontinued the Pixel Bender platform. Typical...)

Well, you see, I'm looking at everything on my MacBook. Much better images on my screen, and the egg looks more golden than brown.
Not just that... I've just asked the master of the house (without any prompting) what colour the egg was?
Lynn's reply was. "Golden."
I rest my case! ;))
Nothing elaborate in this one just wanted to add colours and have a break from attempting Gary's metal pawn using vector shapes and fills only, it ain't easy  As Gary said one time " I never said it was gonna be a walk in the park" :D
Great work Paul, I like your choice of colours and no I don't want to give anyone a run for their money, I just like sharing and learning from eveyone :D At the moment I'm trying to re-create Gary's pawn+rook image, just the pawn, involves a lot of tracing and it is so dark in places it's hard to define the shape, well that's my excuse if I get it wrong :D Here's a small preview of work so far, not done much as it has been way to hot here to stay in doors.
Excellent job Stygg. You put a lot of work into that. I draw everything with a mouse, that is to much detail work for me. Just a suggestion, you may want to add some solid highlight reflections. Both light and dark to create reflection and light direction. Remember, when the light source hits on one side, It's going to be dark on the other. Here's a sample. I just added three highlights to your image.
I don't think anyone is in competition here. We are all just having fun. At least I am. I'm enjoying the things that you have been posting. You are doing some nice work. keep them coming.
Thank you Stygg for you comments on my work. I always appreciate what you have to say.
