Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
Now I've tried putting a logo in another customer's web site. I've gone over and over it. This is really weird. When I load the site on the internet the logo starts to appear in the address bar, but then goes away and is replaced by the default icon.???????

Error in your code Ron
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/index_htm_files/"jeicon.ico" />
Remove the extra quote (shown in red above).
;)
Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
Ok, I did but still doesn't show.
I created a 16x16 icon file. The icon file has no spaces in the file name.
I placed this code in the placeholder:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/index_htm_files/jeicon.ico" />
I exported the file to "Export web site".
I then published to the web.
I can't figure out what I've done wrong.????

Sheeeesh!
I went back to http://recapitalmgm.com and now the logo doesn't appear, right after I had got it to work. And I haven't done anything whatsoever to the file or the web site. I did a "control u" and the line of code is gone!

How are you adding this to your page? Via a placeholder named <head> ??
Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
That's correct. I followed closely the instructions in Egg's video.
Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
Clearly something didn't stick to your file for export :(
Attach the .web / .xar?
Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
What codes do I use in Placeholder to get my animated icon to show in Mozilla and the static to show in IE?
Re: How do you get a logo in the address bar?
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" >
<link rel="icon" href="animated_favicon.gif" type="image/gif" >

Oh oh. I copied your above code and pasted it to read as follows in my Placeholder:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="recapitallogo.ico" >
<link rel="icon" href="animated_recapitalflag.gif" type="image/gif" >
I verified that <head> was applied to object with Placeholder code. I exported to Web Site. Then Published it. I quadruple checked everything including the file names.
Now neither works, Mozilla or IE. What did I do wrong?
