Re: Stop & Post March 2009
I dragged an old (circa 1995) Corel PHOTO-PAINT 5 UNLEASHED book by David Huss off of my shelf and found a tutorial I wanted to recreate using Xara Xtreme. It was relatively easy and gave me a chance to try out the Imagelys Picture Styles v5 Seamless Texture creator as detailed in the Seamless tile program (free) - this is amazing! thread started by iamtheblues.
I used IPSv5 to generate the seamless coffee bean tile for the repeating background. The coffee cup image is one I modified from the 'Objects' collection in the Xara Xtreme Clipart Gallery. It was later used as an Intersect Shape with a copy of the coffee bean background to give it its matching fill. The text is filled with the Canvas1 Fabric Fill from the XX Fill Gallery and a drop shadow was later applied. The white steamy area is just a rectangle with a 40pix feather region and 65% flat mix transparency applied to it.
This would be a nice tutorial for someone starting out with Xara Xtreme to try.
Other tutorials made easier with Xara Xtreme, :D

If I am not mistaken, those are my copyrighted beans. http://www.custom-stereograms.com/html/gallery_7.html
I do think I remember giving Xara permission to use them however. :D
Re: Stop & Post March 2009
Gary,
You'll have to hire a 'bean counter' to make sure all of yours are still present and 'accounted' for. They shouldl be able to tell you if someone has 'bean' there and taken some. OK, I'll stop now and spare everyone.
Actually, I found my coffee beans on stock.xchng vi. It's a great source for 'free' stock photos to play around with.

You got me thinking, does Xara Xtreme have really have a coffee bean image in either the clipart or fill gallery. I looked there before venturing off to stock.xchng but didn't find one. Then again, sometimes it's difficult finding something in either gallery even though you know it's there.
I always enjoy browsing through your Stereograms and can lose hours at a time staring at and admiring them. I'm looking forward to this years offerings.
Cheers,
Harry

Harry
I have been working up this summer's batch.
This one is a mapped texture stereogram. No hidden image but the image should pop out. It's called Quarters.
Re: Stop & Post March 2009
Gary,
Way too  !
It always amazes me how the mirrors you use to create the effect are kept just out of the viewers field of vision. ;) :D
When I'm finished going through my 'seamless tile' phase I'll have to attempt another stereogram or two. I thought my first stereogram, with a bit of help from your tutorial, came out 'Fair'-ly nice.
Xara Xtreme, so many possibilities, so little time...
Talent like yours is an inspiration,
Harry
