Looks great Dan!
Finally finished this one: http://myrichmondrotary.com/index.htm.
Took about a month longer than it should have (waiting for files, decisions on whose photo goes where, etc.) but I like it. The Contact Us page came out good, although quite a bit of work to get it right. Still a few tweaks to go but I'll leave it for next week!
Jim -- you get a pat on the back from me! I'm sure your club members will be impressed with all you've achieved. That contact page did turn out well.
Regards, Ross
Ross,
Thanks. This was the site I was working on when I got censored (here) for copyright infringement. My point was that by exporting images as .jpg instead of .png they can't be stolen as easily. My example was the Rotary logo. As a .png it can be copied and used by anyone who wants to copy it, as a .jpg it also includes part of the background and border so would require some work to make it useful elsewhere.
Jim
Doane,
You should change your background image to export as a .jpg instead of a .png on http://pagesperso-orange.fr/gerver/index_3.html. It loads slow at 527KB in size. A .jpg might be 1/10th the size and load a lot quicker, and it's unlikely you'll see any difference.
Jim
All of the photos for your site, doane, are .png files (making their file sizes much larger than they need to be). Additionally, note that your photo popups should probably be rotated into true horiz/vert orientation. As a single example clicking on the 'table with umbrella' thumbnail on this page pops up a photograph that is rotated about 5 degrees to the right (same orientation as the the thumbnail) ... and the photo-file (.png) is half a megabyte large.
