Progress report. I took a composite of a model from a book called Visualizing Muscles by John Cody, M.D., (I think it's still available) and created a model that I could use. The magic of XaraX with the freehand tool and some transparency and this boy was doing a pose that wasn't in the book!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif I placed him on the same layer as the guides and locked the layer so it was like having a blueprint to work from. Took the MANY parts that I created from memory and placed them over his body and redid a few areas here and there. I'll be using the shape of his face and the eye, nose and lips but am planning on having him more like a space scene reflected from within his skin, so only light and fractal plazmas will show detail in the end.
I'm planning on reworking the cape quite a bit but the main mantel (except for the center medallion) will remain mostly the same to give him majesty and a powerful look.
He's slowly becoming sorta, kinda a character similar to Marvel Comics "Eternity" (who frequently appeared in Doctor Strange and Silver Surfer comic books) but with more definition and much cuter!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
As you can see I have moved the pecs, rib cage and abdominals to the side for you too look over as well.
Anyway, it's not often that members will show you the very depths of the process, so I thought I would show you a snap shot of the work area (most of it).
Enjoy! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

1) No diseases
2) No arguments
3) Don't have to put out
4) Don't have to feed it and
5) Don't have to do extra laundry!! (that's my favorite one!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )
Now if you haven't read my web site and didn't know I was gay, now you do. I like women just fine, for friends and that's it! Nice thing about being gay though is that women always confide in me the most personal stuff and they don't even mind changing in front of me. I worked with this woman that had implants put in and she made me "cop a feel" (twice!) so I could give her my honest opinion if they looked and felt real (oh yea, she took off her top and bra too before I did the requested deed! Blech!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif )

Maybe you should download the trial of XaraX and give it a try. There is an update in the works and should be out sometime in the near furture. Another Update.
Here you see I have the outline image using the composite model finished and under that are about 50 shapes hand drawn vectors for the various muscle groups. Still have to redo the pecs, rib cage and abdominal's to reflect the changes. I placed them on top to show the needed areas that needed work.
I changed the mantles center piece as well as the cape and collar globes.
Also included the primitive shapes of what will be the hands, blown up so you can clearly see the shapes. They will not be identical when finished but I like semitry (did I spell that right, word check can't figure it out, not good! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif
Coming along nicely. Now I have a busy weekend so I'm hoping to have the time to work on it more but we shall see!

This image is just something I've been fooling around with. I'm not very happy with it so far. I've been thinking of it as a time machine. The cast iron part was imported from SketchUp. The drawing also uses elements from older Xara drawings.

The feelings mutual Ron. Hey Ross,
Long time, how the heck are ya besides to busy to see straight?? http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
I think this has allot of potential but if it were a time machine then I would subtract the texture from the square and beveled objects and then build it up from there. I think of a time machine as futuristic and it would also need either a seated area or a tube type of thing for the person or object.
Many of the time machines that I have seen in comic books and sci fi novels either have one of those or has two cylinder poles with a platform in the middle where the person stands (or object is placed) and the control consol close by or interconnected somehow.
Love to see this finished and hopefully I gave you a bit more input to work off of! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Richard,
I don't think anyone who follows these forums had any question about your ... um ... orientation. Whatever "flips your wig" is fine with me, but I came to this forum to have fellowship with other "artists" about creating "art". I find it much too easy to stumble across that other crap (like the post left by NITM in the Announcement Forum) everywhere else. I don't mean to PREACH to you guy (or GAL whatever the case may be), because your artwork speaks for itself ... and you have more talent in your little finger (which no doubt is adorned with polish and sparkles) than I have in my entire body. Blaming it all on JohnR works for me. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/wink.gif
Ron,
Thank you for the fabulous '66 Mustang! It really takes me back to my misguided youth. I was fortunate to have one then ... and we are a fortunate group to have you sharing these wonderful illustrations with us. Keep 'um coming http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
Ross,
I've only been on the forum since August and I believe this is the first thing I have seen you do. I really like the composition. At first I thought the "cast iron" part was ornamental ceiling tiles. It has that "shock value" feeling to it like a Salvador Dali painting ... as a piece of the puzzle is removed to expose something you didn't expect underneath. I like it. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/cool.gif
