Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
anyone remember the fuss there was when that was changed from spacebar [so latter could be used for push a la adobe et al]
any chance we could get rid of double click switches tool [as an option of course]....

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Another small request.
Instead of the either/or situation of the Options dialog for setting color units to 0–255 or percentage, how about the Color Editor simply using 0–255 for the RGB color models and percentage for the CMYK sliders?
It's a pita as it is now with the either/or Options control.

Absolutely.

makes sense, but useful to keep both for hsv

But...it's always one or the other for HSV. The only means of keeping CMYK after using the HSV color model on an object is to revisit the CMYK sliders, alter one value slightly, and then put it back where it was.
Try it. Set an object to a CMYK color using the CMYK sliders. Export to PDF and use the Native color model for the output. Check in Acrobat using the Output Preview panel. Switch to CMYK in the "Show" drop down. It should still display that object. Back to your Xara application, pull up the Color Editor (if not still on-screen) and switch to HSV. Alter the color slightly. Use the same export process and you will see that if one uses the Show: CMYK, your object is now not displaying.
HSV will always export as RGB if using the Native option in the PDF output because it is, be definition, an RGB model.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
ok I see what you are saying there for CMYK and agree it sounds like it is a pain
what I was responding to was:
Quote:
simply using 0–255 for the RGB color models
as long as that does not mean losing the ability enter and work with % values in HSV I have no issue

I *think* that behind the scenes, all the RGB models, of which HSV is, they are all 0–255. As long as Xara doesn't change any of the input methods (i.e., the present input screens in the Color Editor) then nothing else should change...excepting the CMYK input values.
Programatically, it's not a difficult thing to do if someone chooses CMYK from the drop down to simply change the user unit to 0–100 as if it were done in the Options. And then back to 0–255 when the color model changes to any of the others.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
as long as I can define colour in xara by H[deg] S[%] V[%] I am happy - it is an artistic thing really, a different way of defining the same colour that is more intuitive

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
multipage document zoom out to view pages - the page listed on the status bar is always the one that is uppermost whilst being completely visable, not the page that is active should that be another... it would be helpful to me if it were the active page

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
have the bitmap copy resolution persist for the session in the same way it does for export
[actually I'd like an option to set a permanent default in both cases but that might be asking too much...]
mind you can set the bitmap copy resolution default in the registry [but not the export] - but it would be nice to be able to do this in the UI

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
I'd like to see the selected page retain it's blue highlight as well as the selected layer, as per the attached image. Currently the selected page highlight is replaced by a tiny 'selected' arrow, which isn't very clear when working on multiple page documents with multiple layers.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Hi everyone, many thanks for all your suggestions. I will be meeting with the product managers and directors shortly to try and push for these to be implemented.
Thanks

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Incremental Save would be nice.
With this I mean if I add a number at the end of the name... Incremental Save (Button?) will save the document with the same name with the number one higher.
I know I'm a little late with this one... Maybe next year?
Thanks for giving us hope Rob!

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
@Rob-Xar. A quite small request.
Could you ask the devs to add drop-downs for (type:symbol, htmlblocktext, filename="", htmlclass="", charset="", UsesJQuery, NoPageClipping, <motw>, <html>, NoAutoHighlight, NoHighSlide) to the Names dialog? See https://www.talkgraphics.com/showthr...anced-features.
For instance, I can create a set of squares with a Fill, Transparency, Line Width and other effects.
When I add a Name of type:symbol, I get a replace context menu choice entry to add any symbol, which then inherits the attributes.
I can use this to develop thematic blobs that are pre-positioned and scaled, saving lots of time over any any other approach I have tried.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Not sure if I mentioned this or not. Remove Explorer from default rendering browser. Even Microsoft is focusing on their other browser EDGE. Even better let us choose what browser instead of seeing it once in explorer and again having to select another browser. Simple rules, simple user friendly ideas. Xara, really.... come on. The other one is when the fault warning comes up when launching the rendering in the browser. Remove it completely, it already shows up in the info in multiple places. Yes for pdf export I get it but for web pages it is just another stumbling block.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Couldn't agree more. For newbies many widgets do not appear to work in this dated browser, however viewing in a modern browser via the browser icons work fine. Ditto re the preferred browser ;)

This is already on my suggestions. I suspect that removing IE completely is more of a bigger job than it sounds, so for a short term solution I have opted to propose a checkbox in the Web Properties options dialog to preview within the default local browser instead. This means when previewing the web page or website, instead of opening the local preview it will open your local default browser.
edit: Local dialogs would still be rendered with IE such as the web export options and Content Catalogue, but the solution above would be far easier and quicker to implement. It's not perfect I know but suitable for the limited resources and timescale we have.
Thanks
Rob

Rob, thank you for getting back on my suggestion.
I do like the possibility to bypass IE - every little helps.

This may be the truth Rob but one that requires doing desperately. New users can't be expected to understand that their preview is in an outdated browser & is not displaying their site as it would in a modern browser.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Ok correct me if I am wrong. When uploading a website, if I have 10 pages and the one that I have made changes to is a simple page but the others are larger and more complex, why does it take just as long calculating the simple page? If i am just wanting to upload that one simple page to the servers, why the program goes through calculating all the other 9 pages? Does it not make sense to have the upload just to that one page feature? Just like how we preview current web page option.

Xara regenerates all the NavBars graphics as well so all pages need reviewing.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Acorn it would save a lot of time if there was a function to finalize the site so it would only then review all pages/navbars. Right now I have to wait minutes for this one long page to render to be uploaded.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
I think Adobe uses the Alt key to toggle the color picker which would be a real time saver.
-
Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
alt key already in use [for selection] - but a customisable key would be useful

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Hi,
It would be nice if paste replacing selection wouldn't mess up the stack and keep the same position, at least bounding box centre-wise.
Thanks.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
When exporting as JPG or PNG it is very annoying to make the settings every time.
It would be nice if Xara would remember the last settings.
That would help avoid mistakes.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Holding CTRL when rotating a photo with photo tool would make it snap to angle like when using the selector tool.

Hi,
Prevent deselection of object(s) while using the warp tool.

Re: What small workflow improvements would you like to see in the future?
Another one for photo tool: Resizing a photo with the photo tool does not work with snap to objects, you have to group it and use the slector tool to make it snap on resizing. I use snap to objects all the time but then when rotating or resizing with photo tool it breaks my snap happy workflow. :banghead:
