Re: Your favourite Movie
I cannot give a favorite movie because I like films for a wide variety of non-equatable reasons - bit like music... but some I bought and would watch again because they always inspire me one way or another [in no particular order]:
Some Like it Hot [Wilder 1959]
Le Roi et l'oiseau [Grimault 1980]
Life of Brian [Jones 1979]
The adventures of Baron Muchausen [Gilliam 1988]
Get Carter [Hodges 1971]
The Third Man [Reed 1949]
wow non there from the current century.. maybe I just stopped buying them ... oh wait Nick Park's Curse of the Were Rabbit [Box 2005] .... :D
[there's also a lot of good made for tv stuff, especially series - it's not all rubbish....]

Re: Your favourite Movie
I've hung back for a while mulling this one over. I could provide a long list because there are a fair number of films I really like, but whether I can remember them on demand or not is another matter.
So these are films I can watch over and over again. I have yet to decide what makes a film watchable multiple times, but there are some films I enjoy immensely but realise afterwards that they're probably not the kind of film I can see many times. It's a mystery to me what makes a film enjoyable time and time again, but some films are like that.
So my favourite films, at this very moment, that are watchable time after time are:
The Sound of Music. I can hear the groans now, but I love this film.
Very Annie Mary. Just a joy.
Twin Town. Rather earthy, very Welsh, lovely humour, bit naughty, very dark at the end.
Untouchable. French film - a delight.
Ice cold in Alex and Dunkirk. British grit and fair play in WWII.
I'll stop there.
[ After I stopped I remembered John Carpenters The Fog. I absolutely love that film because of the atmosphere and a trip back to 70's America. ]

Re: Your favourite Movie
twin town is an excellent film .. and a great example of UK film making at it's best
which for some reason reminds me that another French film Léon [Besson 1994] should have been on my list ....
