Yes, please tell us more Parahandy.
Thank you all for your interest. Well it was an uneventful holiday being away in the middle of the countryside, how neat and clean it was too, truly rural. The village I stayed in is called St Denis De Gastines I stayed with my daughter and her husband in a 100 year old farm house which they have purchased, no longer a farm, the barn and the outbuildings are still there intact and waterproof. The land about 150 yadrs by 50 yards, is going to be landscaped over the years and turned into a huge garden with flowers fruit and vegetables being grown. While I was there I had a go at cutting grass on one of those motorised/sit on lawnmowers. In fact that was the most exciting episode of the whole holiday, I mistook the gear lever for the depth cutting control and took off at a great rate of knots recovered control before bashing my brain out against the barn wall. Took part in making apple pies, elderberry and apple jelly, soups of all kinds about all I can eat and contain these days.I was supplied with a wheelchair at the airport so was spared the long walk out to the plane. Edinburgh - Rennes Airports . A not very good picture of the turbo jet.
Glad you had a wonderful time with your family, Norman. I could use a vacation like that. I haven't had a vacation in 20 years.
Sounds idyllic out there. Could do with the peace and quiet myself (without neighbours lawnmowers!:p) Thanks for keeping us updated. :)
The lengths some people will go to to play on a motorised lawn mower :-)
Now theres a thought for competition "Flying Norman" coming of the lawnmower.
Take care Norman
