Wonderful photographs Graeme.
Thank you Larry and Bill! There's a certain irony with what I'm doing - when I first started out in Xara many moons ago, I was trying to make my artwork look photorealistic. Now I'm trying to make photorealism look like artwork :)
You certainly put a lot of thought, planning and work into your photographs, Graeme. I have only ever spent a fortnight in Scotland, concentrating on the west coast and Glencoe. But you have sparked my imagination with your portrayals of the east coast. If ever I return it will be the first area I visit. Absolutely stunning work.
Saludos,
Bob.
Thank you, can't wait to examine it.
Thank you Bob! St.Cyrus beach is hidden out of sight when driving through or around St.Cyrus. I ignored it for decades only to rediscover its beauty a few years back. Well worth a visit! Here's a couple panoramic shots taken on a sunny day - sadly 800 pix wide doesn't do the shots any justice :)
Burpee, hope the xar file makes the process easier to understand.
Neat! If you're not working for the Scottish Tourist board Graeme I think they ought to commission you! :)
John, you'd think my corner of the world was a sun trap from those pictures! :)
Sadly the good weather seems a rare commodity, especially at the weekends or during holidays but if the sky is clear at night, I try to make use of that too!
While I like all the photos Gourdon Double Rainbow has got to be my favorite. Seems kind of fairy tale like.
Thanks Larry.
It was sheer luck I got that rainbow - I ventured up a local hill I had driven past for about 20 years and was rained off. On the way down, I could see a rainbow starting to show up. The odd thing about that photo is that it was taken with a fisheye lens - not a lens I usually take on a landscape shoot! I was able to get the whole rainbow in the pcture with that lens.
It was good luck all round that night!
Thanks for letting me examine your image. I could not get the same effects as you but after viewing how you did it, I can get something reasonable. I think the right photograph is needed to make the process work perfectly. Images with large blocks of the same color don't get the same effect.
