Sorry. Yesterday was a (chock full of delays) travel day for me.
Aridzone's example is exactly how I would do it too Werkzeug. I'm glad you like my template. I really like the way that one came out too. Did know that I created named colors with that template and if you change the named color, all the images that use that named color will change with it? That way you can customize my template to your purposes.
Just a thought...
Eric
No idea how to do that. I do not just like it, I love it. I could be missing the CSS folder for it. Maybe that is why the links to pages are not working for me. All the pages are in the one folder .web and show up together in the workpage, but only the index page will open in preview and upload. It shouldn't but never know.
here is the complete folder if I can get it into the attachment
Everything works fine for me. Here is a working version. I don't know what you are doing wrong. Did you see my post # 259?
Everything works fine for me now as well. Sure you didn't Dr. it? It may have been created in a diff Xara suit and putting it through yours may have fixed it. I only have XWD5
Q.: Is there a way to just upload a single page [when updated] and not the lot together?
Werkzeug, the best way to have control over what gets uploaded is not to use the built-in publish function. There are many freeware FTP clients out there, and you can then log directly into your server and upload only what you want, exactly where you want it. By using the convenience of the built-in uploader you sacrifice some versatility. It's also easier to keep from uploading to the wrong server when you're managing multiple sites.
Hi Werkzeug,
I've found that FileZilla is quite good for my purposes and it's free too.
Werkzeug,
You can create the links for your buttons by using the Link to page function. Press Ctrl+Shift+W to get to the link page and then just pick your button, select the name of the page that you want from the dropdown list and press apply to assign the link. You will have to repeat the process for each of your pages. You should really open a new thread for this though, if you have any more questions. We have gotten off topic for this thread even though it started originally about one of my templates.
From the Xara Help file:
Link to page
Select this option to link to another page in the current website. The dropdown list allows you to select which page to link to.
TIP: If you have many pages in your website document, giving each one a name makes it much easier to setup and maintain your page links, because the page list will show the page names instead of just "Page 2", "Page 3", etc. See the Page Tab section below for details of how to setup page names.
In addition to an entry for each page in your site, the dropdown list also contains the special entries Next page and Previous page. Use these to add a link which leads to the next or previous page in your site. For the purposes of such links, the page order is determined by the order of the pages as they appear in Xara Xtreme Pro 5. A "next" link on the last page links to the first page and a "previous" link on the first page links to the last page.
I hope that helps...
Eric
