As for me I think all 4 are very nice. I don't detect any grain in these. In the previous post of glasses I did see some grain on my computer, it was on the white glass thing in the far left.

Thanks, Larry. that was a validation of what I was thinking. I used three different rendering engines on my four models in post #40. And if all the images look good to you, then I must be doing something right with the programs. :)
My Best,
Gary
P.S. Okay, it's hideous, but it looks somewhat photo-realistic...

My idea of a good place to be as New England enters Autumn with a resounding thud.

I can't bring myself to buy a card off the rack, especially since we had to buy a new inkjet this year.

Gary, all I can say is your work is amazing.
Did they ever capture the mad toy robot thief that stole all those robot toys and likes to paint one in special colours and dress it up?
Stop posting these photographs Gary, you'll give yourself away!
You can't go wrong with a robot card.
Hah! Thank you, kind and generous fellow members.
Now that I lost Xara Xone as a client, you can see what I've been doing. :)

Just up to a little magic—Larry, please forgive me. :)

Igor, our own in-house visual punster, was the inspiration behind this rendered model that I filtered using Alien Skin Snap Art:
It's Fall now, get it?
Sorry!
-g
I like that a lot :)
Thank you, egg!

First, several apologies are due to my friend Igor, for giving him a hard time over drawing and posting a cartoon firearm filled with pencils. We Americans are touchy about guns and even pictures of guns, but I did explain to Igor that as an artist, he is above reproach, politically and socially.
So I turn around and do a model of a gun, specifically a squirt gun, AKA a water pistol, AKA a Weapon of Moist Destruction.

I designed it based on existing toys the kids around the neighborhood left in the back yard (okay, okay, I own one or two toys), modeling in C4D, render out of modo.
A peace-loving, tired old guy, who still can appreciate a little Summer Fun,
Gary
I really like that.
Thanks, Paul!
Peace, Attachment 110462
Gary
..if only they were ALL like that..
Nice one Gary.
I'm not a miracle worker, Paul, but I do know how to use Photoshop:

Let's collect and melt them all down and create a lawn flamingo.

Just in time for the holidays!

I think someone cut out the mouth and eyes the wrong way around!
Paul
LOL
didn't spot that.
Far too clever!
Doh!
Some of those images you create look so real. Very impressive.
Your poster looks very cool!
Thank you, Mark.
I don't know why, but in addition to food items, I also gravitate toward designing rooms.

Room for improvement,
Gary
Very impressive sir. It impresses me that you can use those programs at all, I've tried them and end up befuddled. Great stuff Gary!
Love the water pistol, Gary. Looks like Buck Rogers owned it. Your work is amazing, I have no other word for it. I sincerely mean that.
And I sincerely thank you for your kind comment, Graham.
I did another water pistol as an illustration here. Both modeling and drawing are a fun "release" and I appreciate the similarities and differences in these two media.
My Best,
Gary

I think a while back on The Xara Xone, I explained how this effect could be done, using any type of photo of a garment or fabric below the text.

Is this a wind up?! ;-)
Some odd vertical lines on the render.
Yes, and the pitch will come later (to mix G.B./USA slang).
Odd, but intentional, Paul. I was playing with a film damage filter. I guess I was more successful desaturating the original colours, in retrospect.
Here's a very old plug-in that does a better job of distressing an image: Crio-Scitex's PowerTone, from 1994 or so. There's only a custom brown and blue channel to this duotone, although the human eye might think it sees more:

That's what happens if you leave your printout on the kitchen window!
You got it in one, Paul!

Actually, I've seen the cyan go last on outdoor signs.

Hey, my bathroom scales lie to me, the fuel guage in my car lies to me, so why not other machines?

Here's what I wore for Hallowe'en. I fit right in:

This was my first experiment with modeling moving water. I created a fractal that resembled it (or so I thought) and the rest of the scene is careful lighting and some stock bathroom items I modeled a while ago:

You'll get lost in the crowd with that costume.
I'll bet that was difficult achieve.
PS. You may want to check your pipes. ;))
I haven't met a droid yet I could trust.
I bet you fall down in that costume this time of year.
Great work as always, Gary.
Thank you, Mark and Graham.
I did this one using the Hammermill Ledger Bond v. 3.0.1, The Ticonderoga Pencil v. 12, the Artcraft Kneaded Eraser for Windows users, and the Flair 1.8mm black pen (R. 0,0,0, G. 0,0,0, B. 0,0, 2).
