Re: Create Bitmap Copy in Place
Sorry, that's not correct. Still only one image in the bitmap gallery.
You can make as many clones on the canvas as you like. It's still one image.
That's the beauty of Xara's Camelot engine, unlike other apps.
Bitmap copy however creates a new instance.

Steve, I do find that if you clone and then for any reason distort the image you get two images.
If you Name it and then distort it, Xara stretches the width and/or height parameter but only uses one named image.
Note, a rotation is not rendered correctly but knowing this limitation can still allow useful image manipulation.

Re: Create Bitmap Copy in Place
I'm sure we're not on the same page here, A.
You can clone dozens of copies and then do as you please with each clone, there still only remains 1 image in the Bitmap gallery.
This is not the same as 'Create Bitmap Copy' (CBC) which will show a 'copy' in the bitmap gallery.
Perhaps you are talking about exporting as a web page? But then, this is the Graphics chat forum, not a Web chat one.

Steve, I appreciate this is about graphics and not web, but previewing and exporting takes up memory (cache) resource, which was what the OP concerned about. I had assumed that the viewing of a page involves a Web Page/Site preview action; I would never just Export a page so perhaps it is a method of working difference where I am using web views as the wrong hammer. Thank you for the clarification.

Re: Create Bitmap Copy in Place
I have read your discussion and I want to clarify.:)
We are not talking about a single object (bitmap or vector). In most cases, this set of objects(transparent bitmaps, vectors, effects, blendings etc...). Combine these objects correctly, you can only direct in Xara. Export of this "cake" leads to many problems. Especially by PSD exports.
Thank U @gwpriester. Your method (Shift+Create) work great. =D>

Again the clarification is very useful. Sometimes the responses veer off topic. Usually the best approach when seeking assistance is to post an example file; a picture is worth a thousand words.
