Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Hi,
the zip is 13mb. I1ll make it smaller. it exceeds the 10mb limit for the forum
I cut and pasted the page source and inserted the videos page.
I`ll just try and post some smaller files seperately and you can put them into one folder.
is that ok.
they will be zipped in two files.

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Ok, here are the two zips.
Obviously you will need to put them all into one folder and export...
For the benefit of those like me, who may not know that...
Thanks guys. Your input is very insightful and much appreciated.
I have the flv files obviously on my pc. I used socusoft anyflv player to create the pages.
The big site has one player with a menu in the player to select from a list.

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Hi GanAnim
You can drag and drop the flv files straight onto the page.

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Well, yes, however I have a multiple file in the main site.
I have just edited the html (well, I say edited. lol.. I cut the page info out and just left the object data
so I`m going to try that now. I have it working in preview fine.
Dragging a single file is ok, I kinda have that concept, it was more to do with the player acting like a menu within itself.
I`ll get back to you when I have it tested to let you know what happens.
Keep the info coming, I know its easy to feed fish. I am still learning to use the rod!
(..yes, I have a rod to use!) courtesy of xara software.

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Ah I see, I'm not familiar with Socusoft Anyflv Player.
If those files could be separated I would do it all in Xara - but I'm biased :D
-
Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
So, I have all the files seperate, being biased too. I only used the flv software because at the time a couple of years ago, i couldnt do this much. I`ve come a very short way...lol.
So, just supposing...
How would you go about it, a menu and placeholders? what about pause, etc.
-
Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
The pause/play and other controls will pop up when you hover over the video.
There are a number of ways you could go about this.
A gallery of thumbnails that each lead to a separate page.
A gallery of thumbnails that each trigger a pop up layer.
separate pages or layers triggered via the nav bar
One main intro video with its own drop down menu to access the others
If the thumbnails are sufficiently different from each other I would probably go for one of the gallery methods. Fewer clicks, no fiddly menus, all laid out for the eye to scan. Good for UX (user experience)
You dream it, we'll tell you how to build it :D

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
Nice,
I will try that using some of the xara videos for instruction.
I figure the pop ups would need to be closed when a new one
opens to avoid audio overlap and file size management.
Thanks for your help guys.

Re: NavBarsubmenu hidden
There is a handy piece of code to close other pop ups as the current one is opened.
