Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
make sure that the copy is selected [not the original] and from the utilities menu click bitmap tracer
a dialog box will open - set it as per the attached and then click trace and then click insert
youi should now have a group of vector shapes - ungroup this and use the ones you want
the text may be a little rough round the edges when zoomed in as your original is low resolution [Gary's point]
Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
right done this but not sure how to ungroup them ?
Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
select then arrange menu and click ungroup
after this the very first thing you should do is select the white background only and either delete it or slide it out of the way - easier to work off the page if this is white so you can see what you are doing
these vector shapes you should be able to copy and paste into xara3D
Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
You can get a vector of it from Brands of the World :)

Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
This is where i am totally lost, I have got to this stage and can't get it to open in xara 3d6
Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
no, its not a vector, so it wont open in xara3D - so you have missed a lot of the steps out it seems
maybe you could try John's suggestion? - I'm all for simple solutions myself
anyway it's past 1am monday morning here and in 8/9 hours or so I have to tramp through the snow on foot, so I'm off to bed
good luck - pick it up later....

Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
Hi Techno,
Gary's right - it's best if you can get hold of the original vector files. Since I had a spare ten minutes I thought I would drop your bitmap into Vector Magic. The trace took about a minute, and tweaking in Xara another six or seven. I dropped that into Xara 3D and made an animation in a minute (for a white background). Files attached.

This is exactly what I have been tried to do all day and you can do this in ten minutes, I wish I could learn how you done this and be able to create logo's as easy as everybody says it is....... but its not.
Thank you very, very much for taking the time to do this for me, I promise I will try and learn how to create these.
Re: Help To Make This A 3D Spinning Logo
You're welcome Techno ;)
For me it was a chance to try out X3D again - I don't use it often in my line of work, which is mostly still images.
