Hi Grace,
That is a better shipping date then my 'estimated shipping date of 13Nov2009 - 17Nov2009'. ;)

Thanks for the info! look at this.
Amazon says it has shipped my book:D
Thread moved to new Xara Xtreme 5: The Official Guide forum
Hi—
• The book has shipped, and it's in U.S. stores and at Amazon U.S.
• The book is hitting countries outside of the U.S. and Canada later than the U.S., because it was printed in the U.S., and it has to be shipped internationally.
• Publishers have very little control over the price you might find at any given bookseller. Some heavily discount, other mark it up above retail. The most likely reason why it's more expensive in Europe is partially due to the fluctuating currency exchange as the world recovered from the recession, and part of it is because books have weight and volume—so shipping to Europe costs money.
• If you go to: Look inside!, Amazon lets you see exactly what I teach, many pages, in fact.
• There is only one Official Guide to Xara Xtreme. Don't be fooled by what book covers are shown on different bookseller sites. The book cover design came last in the publishing process and we had to get some sort of image up months in advance.
• The Kindle e-version contains the same text as the physical book. The images are grayscale, I think I make the same royalties from an e-version, but I don't care for my work being shown in black and white.
• I'm pals with Gary Preister, i'm aware of what the Xara Xone tutorials contain, and the book I wrote is absolutely no competition. I'd be very surprised is there is any repetition of anything. My approach to documenting Xara is very different: I give the reader an assignment, a complete design idea, that one works through. It's not a "Tips and Tricks" book, and it's not a beginner's book, although a beginner can get up and running with the book.
My Best,
Gary
P.S. Please read the "Introduction" thread on this area. I've written a fairly accurate description of what the book documents.
Mine arrived 2 days ago from Amazon. Shipped to Oz it cost me AUD 40.00 roughly. Looking forward to the weekend!!!:D:D:D
