Re: Of no use whatsoever....
I had no problem until accidentally dragging a control point so far as to force a scroll, then I got the strange redraw too. Minimised, then maximised, problem fixed until I forced a scroll again. I suspect the problem is that Xara is only redrawing the area that it thinks has changed when, in fact, the whole window needs redrawing.
Re: Of no use whatsoever....
Aah,
Didn't see it at first but now i do
has to do something imo with the edge of the handling square, cause only see it as a straight line at the end of the line.(you see it even better when convert line to shape)

Re: Of no use whatsoever....
I see this all the time with XXP ver 3.2.2 when I am zoomed in. I use dashed lines a lot and they get all screwy until I get the whole screen to redraw, such as by changing the zoom or scrolling. I don't ever remember seeing this with XX ver 2.
Re: Of no use whatsoever....
You can force a redraw with Control Shift T.

Cheers, I'd forgotten that!
Re: Of no use whatsoever....
No refreshing problems here whatsoever. It might be your graphics card drivers and/or your settings of your graphics card as well(?).
Re: Of no use whatsoever....
Hi again,
I didn't expect the response to this post that it has generated. Dave's xar file is a great example of this screen area redraw effect. I imported his xar into X1 and it's the same there.
I don't think it's any great problem, just a anomaly.
I saw an Open University programme once about pushing around individual atoms around and this is what this effect reminds me of. "Xara moves Atoms!"
Re: Of no use whatsoever....
I also think its a graphic card problem as I get a shift to the right in a C.W. motion and then nothing do not get the half dots as shown in screen shot. Is this not to do also with the fonts? as I converted them to shapes and then un-grouped the font and moved the line with no effects.

Albacore,
I think you've hit the nail on the head re Fonts.

The effect I see has nothing to do with fonts. I did not experience the problem originally reported with the brush. The original file I downloaded did nothing. But, David O'Neil's file does not involve fonts and the circle redraws on my PC.
The attached file has an oval at an apex of a long dashed line. Move the oval around on my PC and the dashed line moves and the line does not properly redraw itself unless I force a redraw. The text is unaffected. (If I shorten the dashed line, it doesn't happen, or at least, is not discernible at the magnification I use.) Select the oval and Zoom to selection to really see it.
This effect seems harmless, except it is annoying because I see it a lot because of the type of drawings I do.
PS: I have 2 monitors, each with a different graphic card having different chipsets. I see this on both monitors.
