handrawn: "since photography is art - here's an AI usage that caught my attention:"
Photography was not always considered art and had a tough time being included in the NY Met Art in the early 1900's. The discussion with AI as art closely parallels the discussion of photography as art.
Here's what I find utterly astounding. Not just the ability for Midjourney AI to create these four variations of "a golden butterfly with silver markings and jewels" in less than three minutes, but the degree of artistic skill and beauty in these images. That way, I can claim that I am an artist when I craft a website or project manage a new IT system; each is unique and sufficiently removed from being formulaic.
I do refute any slur that my artistry extends to my drinking.
AI overemployed is just artifice, in its worst meaning.
