The use of the dark grey colour scheme is OK, although I would like some choice in future versions. :)
The dark grey does not seem modern or particularly sleek to me, however having seen it many times over the past 30 years it just seems to be a rehash from the past. ;))
It's environmentally friendly.
The dark colouring requires less LCD back lighting power. :D
I love it.
The Grey UI is used a lot for it's neutrality when working with colours and photography. Look at Lightroom, Aperture, PSP, Kuler, ColorSchemeDesigner, and so on.
Open the button palette, then alt+drag the flyout off the toolbar back to the button palette.
Then you can simply alt+drag the buttons you want from the button palette to the tool bars.
If one of the buttons you want is part of a flyout group in the button palette, alt+drag THAT button only from the flyout to the toolbar.
I really like the dark gray interface. It looks very high tech. But true it is quite a departure from the previous versions.
It would really help me decide if I want to upgrade my web designer or wait for XXp6 if someone from Xara could confirm if all of the new web designer features will be incorporated into the new version of Xtreme/pro.
If not, which ones will be and which ones won't? I noticed on the Xara website that WD6 has an auto backup feature I sure hope that makes it into Xtreme!
echo .... Frances' request.
What's going to be offered (with respect to website creation/maintance) with the Xtreme upgrade?
WD5 was released March 09 with Xtreme 5 in June 09. If they follow a similar path, then we'll be looking at a couple months yet before we know anything.
