I already have 18 and they still throw me the bone.

that does not actually answer my question ;) if you have 18, but your update service is expired for instance you will get popups
as for the popup code - xara only supply code for the program - magix code the installer, and the popups are [almost certainly] part of that
@handrawn and I both like rigor as I'm sure Xara does too.
So when you state this it is totally opaque as to where you are in the Magix Update service cycle and which version (18 and/or 17) and the pop-ups and their type you are referring to.
There are solutions for certain nag screens but without knowing what nag you are nagged over, little can be done to help or explain.
For my out-of-cover v 18, I get an Update service period expired OK/Upgrade nag. I have a workaround for this.
If I OK, I then get a Renew your Update Service today nag. This comes with a 'Don't show this again' checkbox. It will re-emerge with a newer "offer" at some point. Its source is C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Designer Pro X\18\UPS\Service_rel_u_x64_vc12.exe with QtWebEngineProcess.exe so they can be blocked.
I then have the joy of all the XDA nags.
Combined, these are the main reason I jumped to Xara Designer Pro+.
Nag over.

I upgraded to 18 3 months ago. I am tired of nagging.
you still have not said if you still have an update service, or if it has lapsed
I have an update service for a year. It has only been 3 month since I upgraded to 18.
Renew Update Service – 1 year
Xara Designer Pro X365
has been extended
until 2022-05-08.
you have an upgrade service for a year from when?
did you buy ver 18 or upgrade under the upgrade service
I upgraded from the upgrade service, It lasts for until May 8th 2022.
so what are the nag popups asking you to do
To upgrade my version to what it is now LOL
