the numpad refers to the keys on the right - you use 1 on this pad [with numbers set active] - nothing to do with function keys

not sure if it is in the manual, acorn may know
back in the day xara used to issue a card with these thing on when it sent out the cd [long time ago]
now you can look in customise key shortcuts in xara utilities menu for what is covered - of course this is a bit like looking up a spelling in a dictionary, you have to know what to look for; I was looking at first for 'hide' and it is actually under 'show' guides...
Top menu > Windows > Show Guides (NUM 1).
If you have Xara Pro then Top menu > Utilities > Customise key shortcuts and scroll down to Show guides.
