Re: Preventing .Png export fromhaving white around the edges?
Actually, this is irrelevant for alpha channel PNG logo artwork such as Coleen's. It only affects rectangular bitmap bounds without alpha channel transparency. It is also less of a problem when using a web document as Xara now try to account for this by not allowing an image to fall on non integer co-ords.
Coleen's PNG bounds are 313x220 px so is fine in this regard also but even if the dimensions were pixel fractions, no white edge would appear owing the alpha channel.

Re: Preventing .Png export fromhaving white around the edges?
White outline around the image is from antialiasing and when using simpler on/off type mask the background colour has to match the final image.
Alpha mask has 256 levels and it can carry enough information for the image to blend into background, so when using alpha mask the transparency/antialiasing information is included with the image.
Re: Preventing .Png export fromhaving white around the edges?
Are you referring to Xara Designer software with your examples??
In any case, Coleen's logo is nothing like those examples, it's clearly a solid colour vector drawing exported to PNG with alpha transparency. There's no masking involved in this process.
Re: Preventing .Png export fromhaving white around the edges?
More or less universally as if the white outline was similar than in my image when placed on a dark background and then was fixed changing the background colour, it sounds like an antialiasing problem.
In my example picture those both images on a dark grey background are also solid vector drawings, just exported to PNG with different options for transparent background. Maybe there are similar settings in Xara also?
