Re: Mclaren #17
Thanks Steve, keith, Larry, Ron, FLy, Sammy, Bruce, Hugh, Mauricio for your more than kind comments.
Sorry, I didn't mean to sound flip by saying it was simple. I should have said there was little detail in this work other than the driver and windscreen. The rest of the drawing was straight forward.
Steve, I'll have to go out and shoot some reference pics for a helicopter. They have a lot of bits and pieces for detail.
Ron, thanks for noticing the shirt. The face and shirt were one of the main reasons I tried this one.
Hugh, I'm sorry I use a mouse. It does get out of control sometimes. Thank goodness there's an undo button. One of the reasons I like vectors is it makes up for a lot of the inability of the mouse (and me) .
Top of the season and thanks again everyone.

Re: Mclaren #17
He looks like he's having a little trouble seeing out of his goggles there Gray...especially with what looks like masking tape on them!!:p
Thanks for sharing your "simpler" images...I'll just go & bang my head against the wall!:D;):p:D

Re: Mclaren #17
Thanks BR. I could be wrong but I think the tape holds on extra lenses so you can peel them off as they get dirty. I've tried banging my head, all as I got from it was a headache.

Re: Mclaren #17
Just goes to show how far they've come...and...how the little details you put into your work adds to the "atmosphere" & authenticity. Very well done.
I recently went to the book launch for Jackie Stewarts autobiography. Very interesting, and quite scary how dangerous it was back then. Very basic safety equipment compared to today. It seems he is quite proud of his own efforts in making it a safer environment for the drivers.

Re: Mclaren #17
Thanks BR. I think you're right on Jackie Stewart being instrumental in improving safety in the sport.
