stumbled across a solution (partial)
as the GEL buttons are TOO RED'
and I could not edit them
(hence all this thread)
I reloaded GEL again
then allowed it to color match
THEN I noticed it was same FLESH color in the color bar
so in a whim - I learned how to edit the color of THEME 1 in the color bar
and ta dah - GEL are now GOLD

happy (enough) for now
ps
Thanks for ALL the suggestion
FWIW: The Gel Button is a composition of different elements over the MouseOff and MouseOver layers; to edit it remove the soft group, ungroup the MouseOff button and edit each element as required in Solo mode, reassemble and group. Do the same as required for the MouseOver button, re-apply the soft group over both layers.

From here you can create a NavBar using your new edited button, or simply replicate the button and edit the text.
thanks - did a little testing
wow -- lots of work
fun, but too hard :-O
Well it is, but if you just want to match the colours of the button to your site, it is much easier; drag the button from the gallery to your doc and match the coloursQuote:

Thanks. But I didn't find it, I created it.
There are close to 100 tutorial videos on my channel. I haven't put any out in a while but then the software hasn't changed much in a while either.
Also, you might find this tutorial on stretchy buttons interesting. http://archive.xaraxone.com/guest/guest86/index.htm As you can see it is very old, but it still works the same way today.
