... hmm - 600 really doesn't give you a lot of room to avoid scrolling.
Then there's another factor - most computers now (including laptops) are sold with widescreen monitors - a polular res is 1600x1024 - great, lots of space for a big website, but I suspect most people run their browser in a window that's not the width of the screen (like I do).
OK, then you make everything tiny to make sure it all fits and, along the way, exclude all those without microscopic vision - I can't believe how some web designers expect normal folk to read the minute type on their websites.
And then, of course, a lot of visitors to your website will be browsing the internet on a smartphone?!

I was actually thinking of monitor resolution when I made my post and in thinking more about it you are probably right, but still would be a great site if no scrolling was needed, but as has been said, we live in a non-standard world when it comes to resolutions. Still a good website.
