As I already stated, the nose will looked more rounded off when I get the blending objects in place.
Thanks for taking another look! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks for the update Richard ... can't wait to see it finished!
Another update. Nose looks better, eyes done, eyelashes and neck coming along. Did the eyebrows but they looked not so good so I will wait to do those another day, not in a hurry right now.
Redid the shape of the eyes a bit and changed things. I think he's begining to get a kinda 3D look finally! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Hi Richard,
Instead of using white for the nose highlight, use a dark pink. I think that is what is the proplem with the tip of the nose. Try it, you might like it. http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
This is really turning in a mega project! Nice work Richard!
Just a little note (donĀ“t take me wrong please): I think the right eye (the green area)is not completely correct in the upper left area.
If you look for the left eye and then for the right eye a couple of times you will see that they are not focusing to the same point as expected.
The rounded part of the upper left area (mainly) of the right eye (hum dumb english...) need some reshaping. Other than that the whole image is turning amazing http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Thanks for sharing all the devellopment process.

Hi John,
Actually I'm using a color called "cornsilk" from the colors template that you shared a while back (thanks again for that! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif ) The nose is still not finished, I need to take that really slow, for some reason with this sort of an angle I can't wrap my mind around the perspective very well. It IS my nose, by the way. It has a curve on the top of it (from breaking it when I was younger) so when I have it turned upwards it really does kinda flow right into the tip like that! Always wanted to have it fixed but it's too painful and I don't want some one messing with my face like that, so I live with it.
Hi Miguel,
Thanks for taking a look. Yea, I know, when I uploaded it last night at around 2:00 AM I saw that and I just decided to leave it alone for now, I was to darned tired to do any more! I'll fix it!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
To let you all know, I had the great fortune to have had those eyes created already in a tutuorial that I did: "Iris using the Blend Tool", the finished version was a fully done eye ball that I think looks just perfect for this piece. So it pays to do your home done tuts and keep them in case you need certain elements later on!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
hi Richard,
Try swapping out the highlight color from cornsilk to lightpink or lightcoral. See if the highlight is still there, but not the abrupt angle. It still looks like the end of his nose has been sliced off. Just try it, you can always click it back...
Looking better day by day, Richard...

Well, I was going to simply do a repost on the face above but I decided that it was different enough to warrant one more post.
I widened the mouth and the nose shape has changed a bit too. Tonight I FINALLY got the subtle shading figured out from the tip to the brow area. Boy that was a hard one for my mind to wrap itself around but I think I did it.
I still have a few more minute details to add to the nose but it's about finished. I like the way the nostrils look flared out a bit. I think when humans (and animals in general) get excited or emotional the nose flares out so in his expression of sadness and anger mixed I think this is an appropriate look.
The eye lashes were redone from the ground up and boy do they look natural. Each row has about 3 differnt sizes so as to give a very feathery and natural look. I like 'em and if I were a girl I would want a pair to wear! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif The crease in the mouth looks odd, I know. Valery, I tried to recreate the mouth and I just did not like the way it looked. So I decided to keep this one. I may try again but there are about 9 stacked layers and it's very tedious to recreate the lines, so for now the bottom lip stays as it is. I tried, I really did, hours and hours worth!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Here is a shot of the eyelashes up close.....
What can I say, I'm a perfectionist!! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
