- cheap update from very early versions (I will update from Xara ??, but I don't want to break the bank. There's a crisis, you know...)
- connectors and CAD-like labels which show the dimensions of a line, arc, circle or area (like CADtools in Illustrator)
- Fill tool (like Inkscape)
- Prezi-exporter
- a Killer feature (but which....?)
Producing this list I started Illustrator and Inkscape. And working in them to find the missing parts of Xara I couldn't resist the feeling that, though Xara misses some features, it absolutely has one feature that can't be beaten: a fluid and intuitive interface that responds very friendly. Xara will stay my first program of choice but sometimes I need to produce in other programs for compatibility reasons. I'd love to stay with Xara for it's the best vector art program for people who love to draw!
the best thing they did was change the color, because the former was very ugly very poor and have to keep it dark is much better for the contrast of art.

When unselecting a text file with the text tool, to klick on the neighboring area is a common thing in other software packages, but in Xara every time unnecessarily a new text frame is being added. I know you can use the escape button, but would n´t it be user friendlier to do it also the other way ?
When linking from an object to another layer to slide in it would be nice to have the properties/pop-up layer/settings/transition effect/slide in from ride, left or what ever as you wish. For example on one layer to slide in from right and on the following next layer to slide in from left. Currently every time you change the setting on one layer it overwrites the settings for all layers.
A sophisticated “build-in” kit (without having to sign in with a 3rd party) to make forms or on-line shops etc., as well as one to make your own customized image carousels, tint zoom galleries etc.
A sound implementation feature.
Is this too much asked of ? :'(
Yes! especially the Form maker/editor- I know the often quoted "well third parties do it so much better so why bother" argument - but this could be true of any requested "Feature" and it seems to me the whole point of buying a Suite like Xara is to dispense with need for multiple programs - If you call something a Pro version then it should have "features in it that a pro would need/use

No need to first name the objects in xdpro. Any used colour, font etc can be easily selected. I can't comment on Illustrator.

Yes, my bad on the editing when I was using my phone.
I understand one can select colors, named or not named. My poor copy and paste and edit job left the "named" in there. My point wasn't just the colors, it is the other object attributes as well as per Illy. Still, even with colors, Illy is faster, and not limited to fill colors but rather any property an object can have.
And while I am at this, I would like all the functionality of Illustrator's Appearance Panel. Don't know what that is? Look it up. One could do a dozen tutorials on it. In short, it can set and modify all in one place any and every attribute an object can obtain. And those attributes can be stacked "on" each other for wonderful effect.
Best, Mike

Quick, in a busy drawing, select all red 2.5 pt lines that are double lines, not the red 2.5 pt single lines nor ... you get the picture. Or, how about all the Arial 12 pt text, but not the 14 pt, or all the Arial that is left aligned, not the centered? Or the Arial that has a 1 pt red stroke, not the Arial that has a 1 pt blue stroke? Or? The list is endless. It is something I use, seemingly ridiculous examples not withstanding.

Re: What are you hoping to see in the next version of Designer Pro?
As very useful as that sounds I would like to see them tackle the brushes first. Xara needs brushes that stretch along a path. Are there any other vector drawing programs out there that don't have these kind of brushes?
Re: What are you hoping to see in the next version of Designer Pro?
inkscape has a range of useful drawing tools not included in dp
that's a shame
