Bright, cheery, colorful...
Here's one that gives a better idea of it in use.

The speech bubble is so appropriate in the current logo that I really hate to see it go. So, I am keeping the bubble and changing to a warm/fun font.
To add a fresh twist the icon contains a speech bubble an eye and a subtle exclamation mark. I think it conveys a human quality of what this site is really all about> People, artistic visionaries!
Great submissions!

P.S If interested I have several variations of this logo and I could create a nice animated gif or flash of the eye blinking, winking and looking around from time to time.To keep the colors alive you can change them every other month, brown eye, black, green etc. Also there are several ways to jazz up your banners on other sites. Any visual slogan i.e TALk GRAPHICS: See what everyone is talking about!
RickX #95 & 96 are two of my favorites. Simons Logo #105 is fantastic! I would try using a different font. I think the powerful thing about this site is the people not the mechanics and expressing that, is what makes a great logo.

This one is too complicated
This one combines two previous designs into one.
Although, visually it doesn't look too bad - perhaps there is a bit of a conflict in this layout because it appears to have 2 logos and your eye keeps jumping between the two. But I threw it in anyway.
My previous post (#93) I like best.

I'm really impressed with the amount of creativity and outstanding design that all you guys have come up with.
If I might play creative director for a moment, here are some of my favorite designs, my reactions and suggestions.
Bob Hahn. While I really think your explorations of the TG are beautiful and classic design (you are an excellent designer, Bob) they are cold and lack interaction. I really like the look and feel of your design #13. I wonder if this were a dialog balloon shape if it would work better. It is simple and very effective and there is a lot of action and elegance at the same time.
Bill (Soquili) Your talking artist's palette (#34) is a really cool idea. It needs some refining and simplifying and maybe the paint daubs could be red green and blue daubs?
RickX Your designs are simple and elegant and very effective. I like all of them but 48 and 85 work very well for me.
Zee #77 is well designed and memorable and has a very professional feel.
Nowire #90 the pencil is very compelling and fun. I think you could go farther with it however and try to find a way to make it relate to graphics. For example, what if the lead were 3 parts, red, green and blue? Or what if the lead were a laser light. Something to make it more than a pencil.
What is really impressive to me as a graphic designer is how many designs you all have come up with and how your designs get better as you go along. This is very much like the real world were often the last idea is the best but you have to get all the other designs out of your system first before the best idea can sneak through your subconscious and onto the page.
I think you should all be really proud of your accomplishements.

First I was just going to let the graphics speak for themselves without giving reason for it’s design or purpose – but here is my take on it.
The colours used for the logo can be anything and can even be changed at anytime. Using warmer colours, cooler colours or festive colours depending on the season.
The logo itself is very simple, with two shapes interacting with each other forming both letters – done in an artistic manor, keeping with the “graphics” theme of the site. I don’t see it as a “cold” logo but more, “neutral.” As this site is very eclectic in topics and graphics, ranging from 2-D to 3-D to digital photos and just plain software talk. A good simple “TG” logo is all you really need.
Gary, I respect your opinions but “lack interaction” I fail to understand.
I purposely stayed away from the speech bubble in later designs in an attempt of starting off fresh. This is a redesign, not an update.
I will add that the "TG" logo will also look very nice on a mug or t-shirt, if talkgraphics goes that route ;)
