Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Hi guys,
I have attached two images to this message. logo1.JPG is how I need the image to look (but 3D and spinning), i.e. I need the orange line and black lines behind the logo exactly as they are. They are going to go next to an existing JPG image on a Website to make it look like the spinning 3D logo is a part of that original image. logo2.JPG is the actual logo.
I was wondering if anyone could very kindly make the logo 3D and spin with the Original colours, i.e. the orange and black colours? I would be so grateful!
So in a nutshell, I need logo1.JPG to be 3D and spin with the orange and black lines behind the image!
Thanks!!!

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Is there a way to have some words circling a main logo? I want 4 words to circle around the letters BP3.
Also The 3 in BP3 is littler than the BP and I have figured out how to do that, but can I make the 3 a different font than the BP and the same for the words circling...can I make them a different font than the BP?
Thank you for your help.

I imagine some of the pro' users could do it.
I made this a few months back when I was first experimenting with a text created on a path and then imported into X3D6.
It's rough round the edges and I really wanted the rotating words to be without the white band.
I posted this to show you that it can be done with a bit of work and thought.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
I will attach what I have and see if anyone can create what I need. The BP3 is to be in the center and the "brancer-performance-parts-plus" is to circle around...
Is there a way to make the "BP" one font and the "3" another and then the circling words another? I would also like to make the "3" red with a black outline. And it really needs to be transparent.
Thank you

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
This is regarding post #7 of this thread by Egg: Egg, how did you make just part of the flag's surface stick out like that?
-
Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Drifter, Egg's flag is made of three separate shapes superimposed on each other, and each with different extrusions, but all given the same animation parameters so that they spin together.

Hmmmm, would there happen to be a tutorial re. how that is done? Thank you for your explanation, but I don't know how to superimpose shapes.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Making logos/images spin like this is a matter of seconds (not even minutes) using Xara 3D. I suggest you give it a try yourself. you can download a trial of the software HERE. There are plenty more tutorials and more neat effects with spinning and rotating objects.
Good luck.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Egg or simsmj or someone with their knowledge: :)
I still am unable to extrude a tiny section and not the entire 3D drawing. I did do simsmj's fantastic tutorial on the astrolab and the correct parts did come out extruded.
However, I was just playing with the spinning logo a couple of posts above and trying to get just the center red pic to stand out. If I am able to do that I will next attempt to get the lettering to stand out. I got close... I did what simsmj did with the screw head - added it to the line made into shape outline (see below) - but then the outline gets extruded also. I tried the large square shape with no outline at all and Xara gives a message that there is no outline and won't let me import/paste it that way. I tried using just the little red square with the athlete and that won't work as it comes out in 3D the same size as the entire white shape, the first shape I pasted into 3D.
What am I obviously missing? Must be something - because Egg's flag on the previous page has just one section extruded.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Man! You guys are GOOD! Tom

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Xara3D can only appy an extrusion to the whole of a given shape. If you want different parts to have different extrusions, then these parts must be separately imported shapes.
But there is a wrinkle with X3D regarding what it sees as separate shapes.
If you select two separate ungrouped shapes in XaraXtreme and then paste them simultaneously into Xara3D, X3D will take the two shapes as a single entity. If you paste them separately, ie. one at a time, then X3D will see them as separate shapes. Egg's flag above consists of three separate shapes, one white, one red, one blue, and each has a different colour and extrusion.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
I still cannot figure out how to add one little piece to 3D. I have been playing with the flag Egg drew. I managed to get the red sections to stand out. Now (and certainly not to defile the wonderful flag) I have been trying to add just one little red square in the middle - extruded - just like with the stalybridge logo pic. Can't seem to do that. I did manage to get the red square into 3D larger than it was in Xtreme, and then changing the font size to 20 made it the correct size, but then line spacing would not allow me to move it all the way up to where it should be.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
briso, I too asked that question not too long ago and Soquili provided this answer, which worked like a charm:
Bob, put two shapes on one page. Apply one texture to one and the other gets the other texture. Then insert a page break between the two shapes. Trying to apply textures with the page break in place applies one texture to both objects.
It drove me nuts (that's my current excuse for being nuts ) before I figured out to texture then split into pages.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Hi, Drifter,
yes, the dots at the corners also extrude with the square they are part of, as it is a single shape. You normally only need two opposite corners, rather than four, and when you want these sizing pixels, it is better to have all objects in the image use them, and to make them far enough beyond the actual boundary of the largest object, so that you can crop them from the final image in XaraXtreme without touching the main image.
Sometimes it is possible to use other objects as the outer boundary, when those parts have larger extrusions. A good example was my spinning engine from a few years ago. There are four parts, including the main body. The main body has a deeper extrusion than any of the other parts, so all the other parts can be added to it, and the added body will be invisible, buried inside the deep one.

Re: Could someone make this image 3D and spin please?!
Briso, you can import additional shapes into a page as long as you have the cursor on (Click the a|b button). While the cursor shows, new shapes will be added at the cursor position. If no cursor is present, any new shape will replace the whole page, losing you any shapes already present. The same applies to adding textures. If you hvae the cursor at one side of an object, then press the arrow key to move the cursor to the other side of the object, while holding down shift, the object will be highlighted. When highlighted, only that shape will take any changes you make to texture, colour, bevel etc.

briso, most most excellent job!!! You have learned well. Now, go and keep playing with Xara 3D and learn stuff beyond what the others in here now know and come back and teach us some new stuff!!! :)
mike - thank you so much!!! I shall now go and work with the information you have provided here...
