Need assistance

I scanned a boilerplate form to modify for my purpose. I need to add a few checkmarks within a box.

1. Is there a way to copy that item and paste it to another part of the form?

If not—

2. Is there a way to copy Wingdings character 0xFE onto the form?

Can we assume the scanned form is a graphic?

You can lock it and on another Layer add checkboxes using Insert > Symbol > Search check (You probably can use Font Awesome "check square outline").

If you need Wingdings specifically, with the Text tool add a Text line and change the Font to Wingdings.
Open Windows Character Map, switch to Wingdings and find the check box, select and copy.
Back in Xara, paste.

Alternatively, with NumLock set on, hold the Alt key down, press 0254 and release.
