I'd say it's pretty close. Although, if you set it in context with the rest of the rink it might improve the overall impression.
Well observed Rik. The thickness of the ice causes the image under the ice to become diffused and slightly faded and you nailed it.
I needed a similar background for a sports oriented stereogram. I cheated though and licensed a stock photo from ShutterStock.com

You know, I didn't use to be able to see stereograms, no matter how hard I tried. Maybe because of my failing eye site I'm able to see them now. ;))
