Xara Designer Pro X365 x64, Windows 7 x64: trial version won't run at all
Hello, I just downloaded Xara Designer Pro X365, x64 version and installed it in a fresh Windows 7 x64 machine (nothing else but Windows and then Xara) and it won't run. I got the error message:
"Designer Pro X12 has stopped working"
Any ideas how to fix that?

Hi aram and welcome to TG. Sorry to hear you're having issues with installing Xara Designer ProX 12.
Unfortunately I can only suggest unistalling Xara, deleting the original download installer and starting afresh, by re-downloading the installer, and trying a reinstall. If you're still having problems, it may be something to do with your Firewall or AV.
If you still can't get a good install contact Xara Support:

...should the machine be connected to the Internet when using this version? Because in previous versions I used (since Corel Xara 1) I didn't have this kind of problem...let me try with Windows 10...

I believe you need to be connected to the net for it to check out registration details, time remaining on free trial etc.
I could be wrong though.

I didn't actually try it this time round, but in the past I'm sure you could get the first 7 days of trial without being connecting to the internet

OK, confirmed: I installed both Windows 7 x64 and then Windows 10 x64. Fresh installs, no other app added, not connected to the internet: the trial won't run in 7, it says that "stopped working" error. :) no problem tho, x12 doesn't add any new feature enough for me to update. Thanks guys.

I was going to suggest that you try the 32-bit version with Windows 7 unless you have the 64-bit version of Windows 7.
But Windows 10 is better. So you're better off all around.
