New versatile and improved Spiral Smart Shape
Xara Photo & Graphic Designer 11 only
The Spiral SmartShape (Insert > Shape > Spiral) just got smarter.
A new control point along the rings of the spiral itself lets you switch back and forth between a logarithmic and a Archimedean (evenly spaced rings) spiral.
Rotate the outside point anti-clockwise to add more rings or clockwise to reduce the number of rings.
Drag the inside end control point to adjust the width of the starting ring size.
I would buy Photo & Graphic Designer for this cool feature alone (though I am confident it will be in Designer Pro X11 when it is released).
My hat's off to whomever came up with this ingenious SmartShape.

Re: New versatile and improved Spiral Smart Shape
Gary, you were right - it is in XDPX11.
A quick question on the changing of the spiral type.
The control is a smoth one so there is not a flip from Logarithmic to Archimedean.
Th question is what type of spiral is set in between?
Attachment 109033 Cloned a spiral and added shapes then deleted the topmost points.

Re: New versatile and improved Spiral Smart Shape
For some reason I only get three handles in XDP11 64bit?

Hmm? Did you use Insert > Shape > Spiral?
Re: New versatile and improved Spiral Smart Shape
Yes, this is one of the best spiral tools I've seen.
Maybe it could be interesting to have button for those.

Yes, I did. And it's the same when I try Insert > Shapes > More Shapes... > NEW Spiral.
Using version 11.2.0.40121 DL x64 on Windows 8.1.

It might be off the wall but open the Online Content Catalogue (OCC) (Insert > From Content Catalogue...) and then press Ctrl+F5 to refresh it.
The OCC is a web page and you might have a earlier version of the spiral stuck in your local cache.

Re: New versatile and improved Spiral Smart Shape
If you have Designer Pro 11 you can set a short cut to insert a spiral.
