Embedding YouTube Video Error
Hello,
I'm using Web Design MX Premium and I have tried over the course of several days to embed a YouTube video to a client's website. I keep getting the error, "Navigation to the webpage was canceled. What you can try: Retype the address". I've tried closing down my program and making sure I have a strong internet connection but still no success. FYI....I've gone back to the Xara tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3rzKF88Sac) and followed the steps exactly but still, no success.
Any suggestions?
Thank you

Can anybody help with this? I'm having the exact same problem.

Re: Embedding YouTube Video Error
PS You Tube changed something, this is a more up to date how-to taking into account that change
Re: Embedding YouTube Video Error
I will definitely try it....thank you so much!

:-bd Let us know if it's ok :)
Re: Embedding YouTube Video Error
That won't work.
YouTube, just like a number of other widget providers changed the way they insert their embeddable content so it means that in order to see the video or whatever content it is, you need to be viewing your page online after you have published it.
In version 9 work was done within the program to address this as more and more widget providers are making similar changes so there is a solution built into the program which means that when you insert these widgets they will just immediately work.
If you're seeing 'Navigation to the page was cancelled' then it's almost certainly going to work as soon as you publish it and view it online.
Re: Embedding YouTube Video Error
Are you saying the method I linked to won't work or the method linked to in post #1? :) Or are you saying they both work but preview won't earlier than Xara version 9 products?
Re: Embedding YouTube Video Error
Yes, http: needs to be added to the url that YT supply :)

The method on Xara-Users won't work in anything older than v9. And yes the method shown in the YouTube video is out of date too.

Well, the src is not declaring either http: or https: so it's best to leave it as it is. It can then be served correctly no matter what page it's embedded on.
