Transparency help needed please?
Hi Guys,
Haven't been here for quite some time but it's great to see the forum is still being well used:)
Problem: I haven't been doing graphics for a few years and are having trouble getting Xara Extreme to export a small drawing with a transparent background.
I am selecting the image in Xara, Export, Save as .png, True color + alpha, Save
The image saves okay but has a white background??
Have done this a million times in the past ao wondering why it's not correct now?
Any help would be appreciated thanks:)
Re: Transparency help needed please?
That should work - how are you selecting the image to export?
Can you post the XAR file?

Re: Transparency help needed please?
Can you remind me how to post a Xara file please?
Shall reply in the morning :)
Ohh! This has just started since I have a new computer.
Perhaps a setting is different from the old pc?
Re: Transparency help needed please?
Click on reply to thread - then go advanced (bottom right of window) - then manage attachments.
Not as easy as it used to be.

Re: Transparency help needed please?
Make sure that the image you are exporting does not have a white rectangle behind it. If you create an image, a logo let's say, over a white rectangle, and you select the logo and the white rectangle, you will get a white background as well as your logo.
If you select just the logo, and then export as True Color + Alpha, you will not have a white background.

Works for me.
Why are you doing this in a photo editing window?

" Why are you doing this in a photo editing window?"
Not sure what you mean Gary?
When I go to export as in your picture, the top left & right box's are both empty?
Re: Transparency help needed please?
Just tried copying the .png image from my new PC to the older PC & it displays perfectly without background there.
Something must be different on my new PC?
Only difference I am aware of is that Chrome is my default browser on the new PC, could this be the cause?
Re: Transparency help needed please?
Shouldn't be, Chrome is my default
