Trying to enlarge ,then crop and save a photo in Xara
Hi, I'm new here and not sure if I'm in the right place so please bear with me. I am trying to enlarge part of a photo, then crop it and then save it but each time I save the photo, it reverts back to the original size. I believe that I have followed the instruction correctly but not sure. Would really appreciate some advice. Thank you

What happens if you export your cropped image? If you are still having problems then make a bitmap copy fo the cropped image and export that. There are a couple more things you can try, but, try these first and we'll see.

Welcome to TalkGraphics
First of all, depending upon the resolution of the photo, you should not enlarge it too much, because the image will become soft and appear out of focus if you enlarge it too much.
What I would recommend is resize and crop your photo. Then right click on the photo and select Create Bitmap Copy. Set the resolution to the resolution of the bitmap (the default setting is 96dpi which is OK for websites but not for commercial printing. Set the color depth to True Color. Click create. This image will be stable.
Edits like you are describing are non-destructive and can be undone. But when you create a bitmap copy, and/or export the image as Larry suggests, then the changes become permanent.

Hi, well it would not export. So I followed your instructions. Now I have a photo that looks like it's been resized but, it still has the grid lines on it.

Worf11, it's difficult to know what is happening - a picture is worth a thousand words, and all that..
