neigh lad - you been practising :)
good Rik - tablets make a difference, don't they
Thanks Steve.
Still much to learn and I have many questions.
There were other things I wanted to do...
Like, I wanted to draw lots of dots. That didn't seem possible without actually making it a line, as I was using the 'Freehand and Brush Tool'.
So, how to draw just a dot, or a slightly bigger dot, like you would if you had a pencil and a bit of paper?
A bit special is that. Keep taking the tablet, Rik.
Bob.
with my bamboo in xdpx you click the pen on the tablet and hold it there until the dot appears - try this first with a largish line size, say 24pix so you can see what you are doing - [also your tablet may be set up differently]
sometimes if you take the pen off too quickly the dot does not remain - that's because of the finite time vector takes to work out the screen redraw on the layer
also there is no way in xara that I know of to get pressure sensitivity when just making a dot - if you find one, let me know :)
Very nice drawing Rik.
Rik, I don't think you can have dots (single points) in a vector program because
the very definition of vectors is a quantity with a direction and length (magnitude).
This requires a vector to have beginning and ending coordinates (2 points) and I doubt these
can be the same point.
If you setup the Freehand and Brush tool to produce dashes and make the shortest
dash possible you end up with a very short line. If you switch to the Shape tool, you will
see the dash is made up of two points. Seems logical that deleting one of the points
would leave a dot, but that is not what happens; the dash disappears simply because
you no longer have a vector.
single points no - lines that are the shape of dots... yes - done as above with freehand tool and bamboo at 96pix
Good work. Reminds me of scraper board.
Beautiful Rik!
