A View of The Lizard
These are some pictures of The Lizard, Cornwall, UK.
This is our favourite place in the whole of the UK.
The Lifeboat has not been in use, ever since I've know it.
First time I ever went to The Lizard was back in 1973.
The Lighthouse is still working and warning passing ships of the dangers.

Re: A View of The Lizard
We go to The Lizard, maybe, once a year.
So, even though the lifeboat is not a going concern, there are still fishermen there.
And, I suppose the boats come and go etc...
But, I couldn't believe the name on this boat when I saw it. Of course, I knew you would like it.

Re: A View of The Lizard
Just wondering, why is it called "The Lizard"

Re: A View of The Lizard
I really must get back down there one of these days Rik, hope you are getting commission from the tourist board
@ Larry - my source says:
The name 'Lizard' is most probably a corruption of the Cornish name 'Lys Ardh', meaning 'high court' [it is purely coincidental that much of the peninsula is composed of a rock called serpentinite]
probably no-one is 100% sure...
