Drawings keep accumulating on a removeable disk. I want to sort them.
Anyone knows a viewer, album etc. that accepts XAR format?

Dennis,
I checked out the website, but under formats listed I did not see the .XAR (xara) listed.
I take it you own the software, so does it read .xar files?

it does.. it somehow can find out that xar files have preview bitmaps stored in them and it displays them. Great software indeed!!!
I've owned it for a couple of years and yes, it does read XAR files, actually, I think it reads a GIF header or something thats in the XAR file.
D/L it and try it out, it does a lot for a pretty inexpensive piece of software and you get free updates for a year.

Dennis,
Thanks I will try it out this weekend!

it went straight to my desktop as my default xara viewer, now you can instantly see all your abandoned projects in one window tee hee

It seems that CompuPic solves the problems I was trying to overcome earlier in the year. It's a pity nobody mentioned it then!
For anyone that missed the earlier discussion, I've attached x-View which is my attempt to make non-XAR-compatible file viewers display the embedded GIF. It can also work with a browser and use the plug-in. It's simple but it's free and 750 times quicker to download than CompuPic!
The Xara X CD comes with a XAR file viewer (a full interpreter) which also interprets CMX, JPG & PNG. It has some limitations and may not install correctly by default. If anyone's having trouble installing it, let me know and I'll post the patch program I wrote.
