BUG in Move Repel Under! : Help
Hello,
I have a very complex group made from several shapes + fonts +effects.
Suddenly I discovered that moving it, it makes Xara Designer Pro 6 to drops it (really down like with gravity..) and generates random positions of part of the shapes...
I tried with XARA Extreme Pro 5, and it gives the same probelm even if with a slide different drop behavior.
Here is the capture video. I have just copied a group and "paste in place".
The video starts when I try to move it over another grup.... :-O
Look what happens (upper left) when I drag.... and Drop the group !!!!
Xara developers help please..... :'(

I noticed it when looking carfully a complex group I had moved, I noticed a lot of randomly placed shapes....
Regards
Re: BUG in Move Group ! : Help
I have realized what causes it ! :D
My XARA file is so LAYERED:
- PICTURES (with Repel under option set)
- TEXT descriptions, emails....
- PICTURES some spots box bitmaps
- BACKGROUND some lines and shapes
- BACKGROUND text with effects, rotations, shadows, plugins, transparency
Well, I have just realized that XARA Designer extends the repel effect of an object over the LAYER boundaries, extending the effect even to pass through several layers level !!!
In this way it corrupts all the background patterns that are done with text and word effects even if they are several level under AND in DIFFERENT Layers!!!
- How can be this avoided ?
Regards

The patterns and text with effects can be converted to editable shapes (make a text copy on the pasteboard in case you need to edit later), this will stop them being repelled.
Or, just don't use text repelling at all, instead postition your text the old fashioned way ;)
I would not regard this as a bug - it's a result, or consequence of using the text repelling feature.
Re: BUG in Move Group ! : Help
I have had problems with this also. It really would be nice if there was a "repel on this layer" option.
