XARA AND ECOMMERCE
I assume that the Xara website was created using ''Xara Software''. So what are they using to integrate ecommerce into their site? Does anyone have an idea? If not what ecommerce software has anyone used that is somewhat simple and clean, for a small amount of products, much like the Xara offerings.
Thanks for any insights!

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
Xara.com was not made with xara xtreme or designer. :)
There are some Paypal and Google Checkout widgets in the galleries that you might find useful.

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
I think the day that the xara website is produced using xara products will be a great day. I have just done a 'shopping' site using paypal, it is really easy

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
Go Niners! (SF was my former residence)
Have a look at http://www.ecwid.com/ This looks like a fairly sophisticated front end e-commerce solution.
My guess is Xara.com was designed in Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver is much better suited to large websites that require custom programming and data-base integration.
There are quite a number of shopping cart websites, many which you can customize to match your own website.
And of course, there is PayPal which is universal and fairly easy to set up. The best part is you only pay a fee when you have a transaction. No monthly merchant fees, etc.

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
I would suggest Coffee Cup Cart Creator Pro and Cart Designer Pro. I recently put together a 2,000 item E-Commerce site with this software and it is great. I would show you an example but we have not gone live with it yet. I just created a link in the Xara site that links to the index.php of the cart and it is seamless.
I'll post a link as soon as we go live.

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
Have you made your e-commerce site live yet? Are you happy with the results? Anything else you want to say about your experience with Coffee Cup Cart Creator Pro and Cart Designer Pro?

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
Ecwid is available from the ecommerce folder from within 'Widgets, Forms and More (download) section of the Designs gallery. The Google Store gadget is also a new addition within this category. The widgets guide will be updated shortly to provide additional details on using these services.
Thanks

Re: XARA AND ECOMMERCE
While this is a resurrected old thread, I did look at the Xara web site's source and also the BuiltWith add-on in FireFox. Seems Xtreme 5 was used to build the xara.com web site from what I can tell.
Code:
<td><a href="/us/products/designer/"><img src="/theme/xtreme5/subnav_left_designer.png" align="left" alt=""/></a></td>
And from BuiltWith...
Code:
Content Management Systems
Xara Web Designer
Xara Web Designer Usage Statistics - Websites using Xara Web Designer
Template based web design software.
Take care, Mike
