"purging" old flash from website... (support items folder)
Hello to all at Tallkgraphics,
I'm replacing a FLASH slide show in a website by replacing the placeholder link with a new one.
All this works fine, but when I export the html, the index file folder has the new SWF file (which is big) and keeps the old one (which is also big) thus doubling my web page load and space consumption...
how do I purge "unused" place holder references? I believe I have read threads about it but can find them.
Thank you for any guidence you may have for me
Ernesto

If you have access to a FTP application, just log onto the server where you web files are kept, and delete it. There are several free FTP programs including Filezilla.

Or you could give the new flash file the same .swf name.

Aridzone,
I believe this may be a better option though I see that some times it does not replace the flash when same name is used...
Gary, I was thinking on a way to - not have it export - from Xara when not in use...
I meant to purge the xara file so that it will not export any more...
I saw a comment about this subject once from Sledger but can't find it...
Thanks
Ernesto

Yes, you need to remove the unused flash file from the support folder before you re save and republish.

Sledger,
I remember now... yes this works, removal from support folder eliminates re-publishing.
Thanks
